This month, we’re highlighting some of the key developments in NX for Manufacturing 2606. Siemens’ June 2026 release focuses on helping manufacturers manage data more easily, speed up CAM programming, and gain tighter control across additive manufacturing and on-machine probing.
What's new:
Faster, more intelligent CAM programming
This release builds on the automation introduced in NX 2512. Background Generate and Fixture Automation have both been expanded to remove more manual effort from programming and setup. NX CAM also gains a dedicated front and back chamfer mill tool, wider planar deburring support for front and back chamfer mills, dovetail mills and spherical mills, improved face mill zig zag control for multi-face parts, and native adaptive roughing for hard materials such as Hastelloy and Inconel.
Better control in additive, probing and inspection
NX 2606 brings finer control to additive manufacturing and inspection. Updates include per-region self-supporting angles for smarter support structures, an algorithmically modelled part base for better heat dissipation, continuous rotary non-cutting moves for cylindrical parts, and user-defined finish pass direction for multi-axis builds.
On the probing side, Siemens has added built-in support for Blum-Novotest and Renishaw tool-setting cycles, TCL logic embedded in CAM notes and closed-loop Cut-Measure-Cut automation. These sit well alongside TTL’s own Probing PL+S add-on, which already brings macro probing cycles from Renishaw, Blum, Siemens, Heidenhain, MSP and M&H into the NX CAM environment, so customers already using Probing PL+S have a natural route to take advantage of these native enhancements.
