FAN BLADES

Fan Blades are intrinsically difficult & expensive to manufacture, and in both the new & service-run condition, they exhibit significant variations in geometry. Foreign object damage whilst in service can cause further significant deviation from the expected shape.

These are critical components whose sheer size makes them difficult to handle. The geometry of the aerofoil, the chord width and the Leading Edge profile all contribute significantly to the overall efficiency of the engine.

These are areas where our fan blade machining and repair systems can make such a significant contribution.

Our advanced and highly specialised Adaptive Machining technology offers massive advantages in fan blade applications.

Supported where necessary by specially-designed “adaptive” fixtures that locate and hold these difficult components optimally for machining, our fan blade systems provide fast & efficient definition & machining of features such as Leading (& Trailing) Edge profiles, as well as removal of aerofoil weld beads and welded patches.

Our specially designed software takes executive control of the CNC machine giving precise control of all relevant machining parameters - whilst delivering very low cycle times.

Our total engineering approach delivers proven, tested and optimised repair processes – direct to your fan blade shop
